Minor in Religious Studies

While the minor in Religion requires eighteen (18) hours, only one class is mandatory: the core course "The Impulse Toward Religion." Students may choose courses from any discipline that contains at least half of the course time involved in some aspect of religion, such as The Bible as Literature, Philosophy of Religion, Church Music, Religion and Politics, Medieval Art, Sociology of Social Work, The Crusades, Mythology, Milton, etc. At the time of registration, students are encouraged to ask the professor as to the class content to ensure its eligibility; then, they should inform their advisor as to the intent of having the course count toward the minor.
